PhD Position at LAFUGA Proteomics (f/m/d)

The proteomics unit (AG Fröhlich) of the Laboratory for Functional Genome Analysis (LAFUGA) at the Gene Center, LMU Munich, is looking for a highly motivated and skilled

PhD student (m/f/d)

Within the DFG Project “The roles of glucocorticoids and catecholamines for the testis and peritubular cells” we investigate the impact of these classes of molecules as not well-examined regulators of testicular functions. The focus of this project lies on the proteome of testicular peritubular cells (TPCs), which are smooth muscle-like cells, building the wall of seminiferous tubules in men. TPCs transport sperm through the seminiferous tubules and are supposed to be important for spermatogenesis by secretion of proteins to the spermatogonial stem cell (SSC) niche.

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student with:

  • An excellent Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or a related subject.
  • Strong interest in proteomic analysis and cell biology.
  • Background in biochemical / molecular biology techniques.
  • Expertise in bioinformatics or mass spectrometry is advantageous.

The LMU is an equal opportunity employer. Disabled candidates with equal qualifications will be given preference. The position is funded for three years by the DFG at 65% TVL.

Please send your application (CV, letter of motivation, and relevant certificates) as a single PDF to not later than October 15th.
