Ulrike Kaltenhauser receives Bavarian Order of Merit
02.10.2019
Ulrike Kaltenhauser, managing director of the Bavarian Climate Research Network (bayklif) and the Bavarian Research Network bayresq.net ("New strategies against multi-resistant pathogens by means of digital networking"), received the Bavarian Order of Merit for her achievements in several research networks.
With her work, she significantly contributed to Bavaria’s reputation as a location for research. She acted as an important bridge between the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art and the scientists, funded by these research networks. Since 2000 Ulrike Kaltenhauser has been engaged in science management. Former networks she managed, are the Bavarian Genome Research Network (BayGene), the Bavarian Research Network for Molecular Biosystems (BioSysNet) and the research association FORPLANTA. In 2013 she initiated the online platform "Science meets School" with the goal to enhance the interest of pupils in scientific topics. Scientists can provide information for teachers to facilitate the implementation of more practically orientated curricula.
