Römer prizes awarded to Gene Center (post-)doctoral researchers

06.12.2021

RömerStiftungLogoFor the 16th time, the Römer Prizes were awarded for outstanding achievements in biochemistry and chemistry. Due to the Corona pandemic, the prizes could not be presented this year as usual at a large ceremony. Therefore, the 19 prize winners were already notified in November and asked to present themselves and their field of research with a PowerPoint slide.

A total of six awards went to representatives of the Department of Biochemistry. Hannah Reinking (AG Stingele), Kristina Stakyte (AG Hopfner), Stefan Bauernfried, Wilhelm Greulich  (both AG Hornung) and Van Hoan Do (AG Canzar) were awarded for their excellent research work during their doctoral thesis. Evelyn Fessler (AG Jae) received the Römer prize for her outstanding scientific achievements during her postdoctoral work.

Since 2005 the Dr. Klaus Römer Foundation has been supporting research at the LMU Munich by awarding personal stipends to outstanding graduate students, postdocs and junior group leaders at the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Congratulations!
