Jonathan Bohlen receives funding from the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation

28.04.2025

The Gene Center is delighted to announce the funding decision and launch of an innovative research project led by Dr. Jonathan Bohlen. Titled “Key to Complexity: Using RASopathies to pick the Lock of Lupus,” the project aims to unravel the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying systemic lupus erythematosus. This project is funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung as part of its "Erst- und Zweitantragstellung" program, with additional support from the Gene Center Munich and Dr. von Haunersches Kinderspital. Over the next 36 months, Dr. Bohlen and his team will explore how SHOC2 gain-of-function mutations impact immune regulation and contribute to the development of lupus. We are confident that this pioneering research will pave the way for more precise diagnostics and improved treatment strategies, ultimately enhancing patient care.
