erc teaserTwo group leaders of the Gene Center receive ERC Starting Grants!

Lucas Jae, independent group leader at the LMU Gene Center since 2016, is one of the 2018 ERC starting grantees.

Lucas is an expert in functional genomics and developed genome mutagenesis and CRISPR/Cas genome editing methods to study the genetic basis of cellular processes important for human disease. Within the ERC project, he is going to study the suppression of organelle defects in human disease.

Julian Stingele, Professor for Cellular Biochemistry at the LMU Gene Center since 2017, has been awarded an ERC starting grant.

The grant allows him to explore endogenous origins of DNA-protein crosslinks and the cellular responses to these crosslinks.
