The program takes two years, divided in four semesters.
120 credit points (ECTS points) have to be earned from mandatory and compulsory elective modules.
Figure Program Master Biochemistry. Students can choose one main topic from Biology or Chemistry and one extension topic or they can choose three extension topics. Abbreviations: Mandatory module (PF), compulsory elective module (WPF), practical course (P), seminar (S), colloqium (Koll), lecture (V), exercise (Ü), module exam (MP), credit points (ECTS).
Students will earn 45 ECTS points from the mandatory modules P1 - P5.
Students will get 30 additional ECTS points from the mandatory Master thesis work (P6).
To earn the remaining 45 ECTS points from compulsory elective modules students have two options:
Option 1: Choose one main topic from Biology or Chemistry (30 ECTS points) and one extension topic (15 ECTS points).
Students can choose:
- Cell Biology or Microbiology as a main topic from Biology or
- Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or Theoretical Chemistry as a main topic from Chemistry
Students may not choose an extension topic identical to the chosen main topic.
