IMPRS for Molecules of Life

IMPRS-ML - A Structured PhD Program for Future Leaders in the Life Sciences

imprsThe International Max Planck Research School for Molecules of Life (IMPRS-ML) is the successor of the very successful IMPRS-LS which was first established in 2005. It is a center of excellence for the training of doctoral researchers in the areas of biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, cell biology, systems biology, and computational biology.

The research school takes an interdisciplinary approach to integrate these different research areas to provide a multidisciplinary PhD program. IMPRS-ML acts as a platform to encourage better networking and scientific exchange as an integral part of our doctoral training. In addition to high level scientific training in a top-class research environment, the IMPRS-ML offers a comprehensive curriculum of further training and activities. The curricular program covers a wide array of transferable skills and includes multi-step career mentoring, specifically aimed at preparing our doctoral students for the challenges of a professional career on the global market, whether that be in academia, industry, or beyond.

With more than 200 current students and 30+ faculty members, the IMPRS-ML in Munich is one of the largest International Max Planck Research Schools in Germany. Whilst the research school has expanded substantially in the last decade, we are committed to maintain a close relationship with our doctoral researchers and foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The IMPRS-ML is operated by the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry and works in close collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM).

Please visit the IMPRS-ML Website for more information.
