Multi-cellular life is enabled by intricate molecular systems for information storage, propagation, and interpretation that make millions of individual cells work together as a unit. Tremendous advances in high-throughput molecular profiling techniques now allow us to comprehensively study this molecular information at high resolution. Using these high-dimensional representations of cellular systems we want to understand how and why cells do what they do in health and disease, with a special focus on the immune system which is involved in virtually all aspects of multicellular life.
